Medina County Women’s Journal Brings Back Athena Awards

Kelli Cole-Wagner and I at the Athena Awards. The Medina County Women’s Journal editor attended an Athena Awards event and wanted to bring it to Medina County. What a simple statement! Of course anyone who has ever organized an event knows it was much, much more than this simple statement. Add to that the need to get nominations, set up a screening committee, organize multiple events and make the first awards something that can continue in future years is a very tall order. But Kelli Cole-Wagner and her right hand Tara Haley made it happen. They pulled off a great event with wonderful people and we all had a ball. Congratulations to the Medina County Women’s Journal, the fabulous nominees (and I was very proud to be one!) and Barb Dzur who I met because someone told me, “you need to know Barb – she […] Continue reading

Excel in the Service You Provide

You’ve seen it – a company brags on their attention to detail for their clients and misspells a word in the ad. Another claims to be a “branding specialist” and has a Yahoo email address. A third claims personal customer service is their middle name but the only contact info is an email address. Sound familiar?  It is way more common than you think! Take a minute and review your core messaging.  Now go back and look – does EVERYTHING you do reflect that core message?  Is there anything the prospect could point to and say, “they obviously can’t do what they say?”. Because I promise you – you may think people aren’t doing it, but they are. And they use your website and online profiles to make the decision.  Where should you spend a little time?
