Electronic readers are a piece of technology I haven’t completely embraced yet. Â I currently have the Kindle app on my iPad, iBooks and I own a Nook so one would think I was totally sold. Â But honestly, I struggle with a couple things. Â Books have always been an important part of our lives. Â We have bookcases in every room in our home and built them in when we redid the basement. My grandmother actually started a library in her town and was an extension until she moved (and you should see the crazy books she had from that!). Â So not having books is not an option for us. Use Video With Reasons
Call me crazy, but I’m not a big fan of video. Don’t get me wrong – I watch my share of YouTube and send around ones that crack me up. Â But if I see a story headline that catches my eye or an article that looks interesting, I hate that I have to get to the site, wait until their video loads, watch some lame commercial and then watch as the crap I would normally skip goes by until they get to the part I wanted to know about. Â Makes me crazy! As with all marketing tools, PLEASE make sure there is a reason to use one vehicle vs. another. Think About The Intent Before Hitting Send
I took the high road today.  It was tough but I did it.  I received an unsolicited resume from someone yesterday and I read his opening paragraph (of 7 with bullets, mind you).  I then opened his resume and forwarded it to someone who might have a position for the individual.  Did I go back and read the rest of his extremely long email?  No – I got an UNSOLICITED resume and I have work to do.  In fact, I had three customers with emergencies just after I received his email.  So he was not a priority. On a whim, I sent him a question.  Turns out, he answered the question in paragraph 5 which he was quick to point out in his response.
