I’ll admit it – I’m one of those people that reads better on paper. I know – I know! I need to learn to read on the screen but for longer stuff, there’s nothing better than sitting with a cup of tea on the sofa rather that at my computer. Enter printfriendly.com! If you have ever printed a blog post and gotten seven pages of comments you didn’t want to read in the first place or worse, a website that wasn’t optimized for printing so all you got was the side bar, this site is for you! Simply copy the URL to the big box on the site and click Print Friendly. The site then shows you a page that is ready for print, or you can actually remove even more text before printing so you only print what you wanted to read. How cool is that? So while you should still think about it before you print, now you can print without as much waste. Hooray!
Searching for People Using Wink.Com
There are many ways to find people out there, but the free ones are always my favorite. Recently, I tried http://wink.com/ and at first thought it was just another search engine. But when I started to look at it in more depth, I realized that this site lets you find people by not only their name and location, but by their personal interests, groups they belong to, school they attended, and their career! With all the social media sites out there, more and more data is available on people and what they like to do, what they specialize in and where they are located. Wink searches those profiles and let’s you pull them together all in one place. They claim to search over 200 million on line profiles. Do you have to be sorted?
No, this isn’t some Harry Potter reference. For my 17th anniversary, my husband and I got each other a new printer. I know – but we’re nerds and we’re cheap. We got an HP6500 for those out there who want to know. It replaced a 10 year old HP that wasn’t networkable (oh the horror!) and was still using Appletalk to work with the Macs that live in this house. Scary, I know. But I digress. So we got our printer and it has a feature I love. It prints with the results face up and it prints last page to first so when you pick it up, it is in order! No really! Okay – so why am I excited?
